Eric Wampler

Eric Wampler is Vice President of Business Administration and Human Resources at Axial Energy, where he leads HR, business operations, and organizational strategy to support the company’s continued growth. He brings over 20 years of experience building and leading people functions across the energy sector, with a focus on high-growth, founder-led, and mission-driven companies.

Prior to joining Axial, Eric served as Vice President of Human Resources at Apex Clean Energy, an IPP and leading developer of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects across North America. Over nearly a decade with the company, he led HR strategy through a period of rapid expansion and organizational transformation—supporting growth from early-stage development through construction and operations. His leadership spanned executive hiring, compensation design, compliance, employee relations, and organizational development, including cross-border expansion into Canada and integration of private equity ownership.

Before Apex, Eric was Director of Human Resources at Tiger Fuel Company, a privately held, multi-generational energy business. He built the company’s first formal HR function and helped lead it through a period of growth, acquisition, and leadership transition. His role extended beyond HR into safety, regulatory compliance, and operational due diligence—experience that shaped his hands-on, systems-driven approach to organizational leadership.

Eric holds a B.A. from Roanoke College, an M.B.A. from Eastern Mennonite University, a Compensation Management Certificate from Michigan State University, and is SPHR® certified.
